I have lived in Casuarina for 12 years and there is basically no crime and if there is a breakin,i heard about 1 last year word gets around the neighborhood very fast and everyone is on the lookout.Hopefully our peacefull suburb dosent change to much with suburbia kreeping up
Its time you updated your site I am part of the Stratton Community Association which was formed in November 2oo8 and I can tell you that over the past 4 years there has been a drastic drop in crime in the area since our formation. As well as this the Association has brought to Stratton over these 4 years Community festivals such as two community days,suburb wide garage sales, movie nights, and a number of other events. Yes we still have crime but what suburb doesn't thes days. The difference is that we have community Association that works closely with Police and the Local Council to deal with issues as they arise. On a side note the Keeping Kids in School program which was first trialed in Stratton through our community Association and now it is state wide. This was not the only event that Stratton was the first in doing that the rest of the state has followed.. Stratton is improving in all areas I have lived here since 1994 and this suburb is improving by the day thanks to having a strong committed community association. Please review your facts.
Hey guys, these statistics were clearly dated as 2007/08 statistics on the top of the post. We are trying to source more current statistics but these statistics ARE accurate at the time of posting.
In the same way you wouldn't expect a newspaper to make changes to a post 3 years ago, we won't be changing these statistics or taking it down.
Just curious what type of crimes they rate this on. Jindalee was mostly a big building site in 2007/2008 and if every crime that was reported was just from building site theft well I don't think it is a true reflection of what a suburb is really like. We built a house up there in the very early stages and have never had a problem. It was only scum bags stealing things from house getting built.
These lists are very wrong for people to read into especially new immigrants who are looking for some ifo, if you think for a moment that Watermans Bay has more break ins then Banksia Grove (its before it on the list) then you are very much mistaken. I live in Watermans and its a lovely area, I need to sometimes go to certain pockets in Banksia Grove and trust me you dont always feel safe just driving through.
