Perth has been awarded the dubious title of the most expensive place to buy land in Australia with the average cost of land coming to $563 per square metre compared to Sydney, the previous record holder averaging $549 per square metre. This reflects a 7.7% increase for Perth in the June quarter which is massive compared to Sydney's increase of 0.5% in the same period.
The price per square metre for other Australian cities are $471 Melbourne, $470 Adelaide, $417 Brisbane and $180 for Hobart.
